Billings Farm & Museum is keeping alive the spirit and values of Vermont's rural past. The farm dates back to 1871, when native Vermonter Frederick Billings set out to build a farm and forestry operation that would serve future generations as a model of wise stewardship. His farm flourished and today is still a first-class working farm, operating with a museum of Vermont's rural heritage.
Billings Farm is participating in Vermont Open Farm Week! Visit them from 10am to 5pm Monday, August 3rd through Sunday, August 9th. Billings Farm will feature farm activities and program each day. Visitors can check out the calf nursery, the award winning Jersey herd in our dairy barn, the 1890 farmhouse and farm life exhibits. Other activities include Introduction to Milking the Jersey Herd at 3:15 p.m. and Milking the Herd at 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. each day. The 29th Annual Quilt Exhibition happening at the farm includes over 40 beautiful quilts displayed made by Windsor County quilters. Tuesday is "Time Travel Tuesday", Wednesday is "Wagon Ride Wednesday" and Friday is "Foodways Friday." Billings Farm has come out with two new cheeses made from Billings Farm milk: Butter Cheddar and Sweet Cheddar. We are offering a discount during Vermont Open Farm Week.

The Strafford Nordic Center is Vermont's newest premier cross-country skiing center located in Strafford, Vermont.
Our initial trail system is the backbone for a proposed 50 kilometer trail system being created on two locally owned well known farms. The base lodge and trail head are located at Rockbottom Farm, a working organic dairy farm and home of the Strafford Organic Creamery. Scenic ski trails are hosted on Rockbottom Farm's spacious fields and rolling hills. Additional trails are hosted on Tamarack Hill Farm, long known for its high level equestrian training, gorgeous scenery and challenging terrain. While enjoying a day of skiing on these two majestic Vermont farms, take in the long range views of Vermont and New Hampshire from the ridge line on the Outer Loop trail. If cruising is more your style, try out the the rolling fields and winding woods trails. Whatever type of skier you are, we have the trails you've been waiting for.
