Our travels have recently taken us to the homes and farms of some of the most interesting food producers in Vermont. On a recent Monday evening, I pulled up to High Meadows Farm in Putney, VT. High Meadows is the state’s oldest organic vegetable and flower farm and sprawls over 65 gorgeous acres. I was there on behalf of one of our clients, Vermont Organic Farmers (a division of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont) to present a new marketing strategy to 30 plus farmers and consumers. It was the perfect evening, with the hot weather cooling as the sun set. We all sat in a make-shift circle to discuss how to best market Vermont’s local and organic food. The discussion was lively and productive. As I munched on pizza fresh out of the NOFA-VT oven and just-picked salad from the farm, I was reminded of how incredibly fortunate I am to work with Vermont’s finest food producers.
