The buzz is strong for many reasons – the restaurant is female owned and run, helmed by Chef Cara Tobin and VFN restaurant veteran Alison Gibson; they’re serving up Eastern Mediterranean small plates – a new (and delicious) concept for Burlington; and it’s good – really good. We checked in with Cara to see how she was creating this global cuisine while staying Vermont-focused with ingredients.

Roasted Butternut squash, pickled Delicata, pumpkin hummus and roasted pumpkin seeds – that’s squash four ways - can be enjoyed in the vegetarian shawarma specialty at Chef Stefano Coppola’s Morse block Deli and Craft Beer Emporium in Barre. Chef Stefano may say he’s running a typical sandwich shop, but his attention to detail and culinary finesse across the menu signify that this shop is anything but typical.

Norma's Restaurant at Topnotch

Norma’s should be tops on all holiday lists for either an evening out with co-workers or the purchase of a gift certificate to impress business associates or clients. It is known not only for its exquisite food but also its outstanding views of Mt. Mansfield. What also draws me in is the incredible ease in which the staff makes you feel welcome and appreciated. It is one of my favorite places for a business lunch or dinner in Stowe.  Norma’s full menu is available online at www.topnotchresort.com.
