Every year, The Brain Freezer 5k combines two great summer passtimes: running and eating ice cream!
Challengers run half a 5k, stop to down a full pint of Vermont made ice cream, then finish out the second half of the race. Are you up for the challenge? (Fun runners do not have to finish a pint)
The race takes you on a tour of beautiful Burlington, Vermont. Runners start at Battery Park overlooking Lake Champlain. The route winds through town until runners reach the pint stop at Church Street. Once runners finish their pint, the race continues on through Burlington and then back down to Battery park for the finish.
All of the proceeds from the race go to People Helping People Global, a Vermont-based international development organization that provides interest-free microloans to people living on less than $2 a day.
