    At Shelburne Vineyard we make fine wines from our own Vermont and regionally produced grapes. As pioneers of the VT wine industry (we were founded in 1998), we now harvest almost 20 acres of our own grapes annually. Our wines have consistently achieved “Best in Show” awards at the International Cold Climate Wine Competition, and have, along with our other White, Rosé, Ice and Late Harvest wines, have earned highest honors in other national and international competitions including the Big E, the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition, the Finger Lakes Wine Competition. We grow our grapes sustainably using a protocol known as Vine Balance developed by Cornell University and our Winery and Tasting Room has earned LEED Certification. We make a concerted effort to be environmentally responsible and partner with and support local community non-profit organizations. Our Winery and Tasting Room, located on Shelburne Road (RT 7) in historic Shelburne VT, welcomes visitors for tours tastings seven days a week all year and offers other VT made products as well as our own wines. Our space is available as a venue for public and private events and we have a regular schedule of concerts, storytelling, special events and festivals. Our wines are available at the Tasting Room as well as in shops and restaurants throughout VT, in New Hampshire and through our distributor, VT Wine Merchants.

    Highlights: Our sugarhouse is a small post and beam sugarhouse built by hand from the trees we took down to clear land for it and for our home and barns. It's tucked down into the woods between our farm barn and tractor barn. Inside the sugar house we have our small reverse osmosis machine, whose workings we will be happy to describe to you, a wood-fired evaporator, and a wood burning stove.. so it's nice and cozy. We also do our syrup filtering and bottling there, and have a small stand with syrup for sale. We would love to have you stop by and see our small operation and taste our syrup. At Sherman Hollow Organic Farm we tap not quite 400 trees, so we are a small operation, making syrup in a way more reminiscent of the traditional family operations.

    The Zero Gravity Craft Brewery miracle began in May 2004 in Burlington, Vermont, inside a restaurant we created called American Flatbread Burlington Hearth. The restaurant features flatbreads using local ingredients and baked in a wood-fired clay-dome oven that we built ourselves—thank you George! Later that year we began brewing our own beer out of a 10-barrel brewery adjacent to the kitchen, and a brewpub was born.
