The Floating Bridge Food and Farms Coop
A short drive South from Vermont's capital, we discovered an unspoiled village on a small lake surrounded by hills among welcoming people. On this site we chose to create our home and restaurant. We see it as a haven where you will be welcomed warmly and offered fine and imaginative food along with carefully chosen wines in a romantic and comfortable environment.
1840s Vermont farmhouse on a beautiful lake near the Floating Bridge in Brookfield, serving fine farm to table cuisine. Glimmers of warmer climates (Mexico & the Mediterranean) are frequent on Chef Lee Duberman's very personal, frequently changing menu. Richard Fink uses local fruits and vegetables to create infusions for his original cocktails, along with a well curated list of wines and local microbrews. Open 5 nights a week for dinner, with the addition this year of weekend lunch in "Ariel's Cantina," serving authentic Mexican Street food in a colorful tent on the back lawn of Ariel's Restaurant.
We are a small diversified farm providing an Omnivore's Farm Share. We raise healthy (natural & sustainable), happy (free-range & loved) animals & vegetables for sale to residents and restaurants. We practice relational farming, inviting members and visitors to share and enjoy our farm and its products—connecting people to farms so they can both source high quality, healthy, well-raised food, and so they can learn how their food can be produced sustainably.
Liberty Orchard is a family owned, pick your own orchard located in beautiful Brookfield Vermont. We specialize in Liberty and five other new disease-resistant varieties. While not organic, these new varieties allow us to significantly reduce the use of agricultural chemicals.
We are open from September 26th until picked out (often Columbus Day). Kids love our short, easy to pick trees and you will too! So grab your camera, pack a picnic and bring the kids to enjoy a lovely fall day in our park like orchard.
