    Caledonia Spirits

46 Log Yard Drive Hardwick, VT 05843

Get directions to this place »

Caledonia Spirits is a craft distillery based in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We partner with local farmers and beekeepers to source organic grains and raw honey for our spirits. Raw honey distinguishes our craft-spirits by imparting a pure and soft botanical essence into each bottle. Our Barr Hill vodka is distilled from raw honey--it’s the only ingredient. Our award winning Barr Hill gin is distilled with juniper berries and finished with raw honey. Our Tom Cat barrel aged gin is simply our Barr Hill gin aged in brand new American Oak casks; this gives the gin a whiskey character. Our Elderberry Cordial is made with organic elderberries, infused in vodka, with plenty of honey to offer a rich and bold taste to be enjoyed as an aperitif. All of our spirits reflect our deep connection to the land and Vermont’s agricultural heritage.

Visit the Caledonia Spirits Distillery in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom for a tour of their distillery and retail space every Saturday 10 AM – 5 PM.

How to find us: Turn into the Lamoille Valley Ford Dealership, drive through the parking lot towards the log yard and stay left towards the red building.

The Long Trail Brewing Company began its mission to brew high quality craft beer in November 1989. A humble beginning in the basement of the old Bridgewater Woolen Mill along the Ottauquechee River in the Green Mountains of Vermont was soon outgrown so the brewery packed up and “Hit the Trail” up the road to a riverside hay field where they now reside in a state of the art, environmentally friendly brewery. Now, thousands of visitors every year experience Long Trail’s hospitality and unique country ambience while enjoying great food, fresh brews and an intimate view of the brewing process at the brewery’s Visitor Center.

European-style cuisine featured in our three restaurants -- The Dining Room, The Lounge, and The DeliBakery -- each with its own distinct character. Seasonal menus to reflect both Austrian and Vermont traditions. Weekly wine tastings, jazz pianist & harpist performing nightly. Reservations requested.

More than a decade ago Johannes von Trapp started thinking about brewing his own beer, for guests of the resort. His dream was to produce an American version of the tasty Lager he has enjoyed over the years on his trips to the countryside near his ancestral Austrian home.

Johannes’ dream became reality in the Spring of 2010, with the opening of the Trapp Family Brewery. The modest facility (60,000 or so gallons a year) is located in the lower level of the DeliBakery (formerly the Austrian Tea Room), where draughts of the heavenly concoction will be available year round.
